kite club: first edition

You probably haven't flown a kite for a minute, huh? Don't you remember how awesome it was?? I picked it up again with Lorelai+my fam last Summer. It's such a nice way to unwind your mind+unwind string for a few hours. I thought it'd be cool to get friends together+fly kites+have fun+relax.
So Kite Club came about.
This is a monthly get-together at Berkeley Marina - the Bay Area's best kite-flying spot. If you drive by Westbound 80 in Berkeley and look to the right you'll see kites. That's the sweet spot.
My awesome buddies came out - Josh, Luigi, Laverne, my sis+niece+Lauren this go around.
We learned about each other+laughed+talked about kite theories (why some fly, why some don't, how to get them up, how to eventually procure +/or make kites shaped like anatomy - specifically private parts)+ate cupcakes (except for Laverne, who is a G+was on the Master Cleanse). We flew kites+sometimes we all shut our traps+just looked up.
Laverne theorized that after you battle the wind+other kites, there is a piece of the sky called kite heaven where kites hang quite effortlessly. Once they get there, it's a beautiful thing.
I want to get into the stories+jokes+laughs+kite secrets but the first rule of Kite Club is you don't talk about Kite Club.

I want you to come out+fly kites so we can tell stories+jokes+laugh+trade kite secrets+relax+unwind our minds+unwind our strings.
Planning to have a BBQ next go around. I'll post deets on when it'll be. You should come.
ps. I'm getting a totally sweet a** great white shark kite for next time. Yesssss.

Don't worry @odubb I've got some great pics of you two that I'm working on. Great blog post Goldie, I'll be back to rejoin the kite club. I'm going to start an east coast chapter ;)
P.S. Can't wait to see your great white shark swim in the sky (maybe even have a kite fight)
I can't wait till the next kite club. Such a cleaaan post, I love love love the pictures you took. you gotta attach little fishies on the tail end of the shark streamers!
Love the pics you know. That one where they are all flying the kites. Dope!!! Good stuff. WIsh I could come to one of these lol
